APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Browser loops workspace name with SBCS,DBCS and /.  This issue
  doesn't occur ITM 6.2.1 or below.
  
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  
  On a 622 system:
  1-Start a browser session
  2-Navigate to any workspace
  3-Save workspace as..., providing a name containing some SBCS
  characters, a forward slash, some more SBCS characters and then
  some MBCS characters.  I used JEA/jea*** where *** were Japanese
  characters. 4-The browser will loop trying to display the page
  until the window is  closed.
  
  Desktop mode works fine as does ITM 621 in all modes.

Local fix

• When naming workspaces, avoid mixing SBCS, MBCS and /
  characters.  For  product-provided names already containing such
  a mixture this will not  be an option so there may be no
  workaround in these cases.
  

Problem summary

• In browser mode, the Tivoli Enterprise Portal will loop if a
  workspace with a name containing a forward slash and one or more
  non-latin1 characters is selected.
  
  In browser mode, the Tivoli Enterprise Portal must indirectly
  determine whether or not a workspace display operation is
  complete by comparing the URL of the currently displayed page to
  the one that was requested.  When they match, the operation is
  complete.  Because of differences in the way characters were
  encoded in the requested and displayed URLs in this case, the
  URLs were never exactly equal so the Tivoli Enterprise Portal
  did not recognize that the workspace display operation had
  completed and kept retrying.
  

Problem conclusion

• The encoding logic was changed to ensure that the requested and
  displayed URLs would match when the workspace display operation
  was complete.
