    Severity: 3
    Reported Release: 621

ABSTRACT: default event dest cannot be restored

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
We have added some eventdestinations and modified the situation
    to send
to the new destination instead of the default one. When we try
    to set
the default destination on the left again and put the new
eventdestination back to the rights side, this seems not to be
    kept.
After closing/reopening the situation the new eventdestinations
    is the
one selected again and the default isn't longer.

    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    1.
Log in to the TEP and open the situation editor

    2.
    Browse to any situation

    3.
    Go to the EIF tab

    4.
Make sure that the "Forward Events to an EIF Receiver" is
    checked

Move the "<Default EIF Receiver>" to the Available box and move
    your
newly created receiver (myTEC) to the assigned EIF receivers box

Then apply the changes and close the situation.

    5.
Now open the same situation and return to the EIF tab.

You need to switch the Receivers back, so that the default is
    not the
assigned and the myTEC receiver is in the list of available
    receivers.

Apply again and close the situation.

    6.
If you now reopen the same situation and check the EIF tab you
    can see
that the switch back of the receivers has not been saved, so you
    are
stuck with the newly created adapter and you cannot re assign
    the
original default adapter on its own.

Problem summary

  • In the Situation Editor, the default EIF receiver cannot be
moved back to the Assigned EIF receivers column by itself after
it has been moved to the available column and saved, and then
moved back. This only occurs when there is more than one EIF
receiver created. If you try to put the default EIF receiver in
the assigned column by itself after it has been moved to the
available column with at least one other EIF receiver, when the
Situation editor is brought back up, the previous Assigned list
    will still be in effect.

Problem conclusion

  • The default EIF receiver may now be moved at will to and from
the Assigned column and the Available column and saved, and it
will be saved in the correct column. An incorrect check was
found that caused the original setting (before making the
    change) to be saved.

The fix for this APAR is included in the following maintenance
    vehicle:
        | interim fix | 6.2.1-TIV-ITM-FP0003

Temporary fix

  • If you want only the Default EIF receiver to be assigned, then
move all of the EIF receivers to the Available column and click
OK. When the Situation Editor is brought back up, the Default
EIF receiver will be the only entry on the assigned EIF
    receivers side.
