Error description

  • Agent crashes when the historical directory is not available.

Detailed Recreation Procedures:

   Start historical collection with an agent when the history
directory is not available.

Local fix

  • 1) Make sure that historical directory, which is set by
CTIRA_HIST_DIR parameter, exists.
2) CTIRA_HIST_DIR has read and write permissions.

Problem summary

  • Agent crashes if the directory that it is using for historical
directory is not accessible.

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes were made in the agent framework to prevent
crashes.

The fix for this APAR is included in the following maintenance
vehicle:

Temporary fix

  • Make sure that historical directory, set by CTIRA_HIST_DIR
environment variable, exists and user id running the agent
process has read and write permissions for this directory.
