APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ODM_LOCK will be leaked if either the genmajor or genminor
  functions fail (with parameter BPF_NAME="bpf"). However, setting
    NetifDisable=true
  does not prevent pcap_open_live from being called on Unix, and
  as a result, disabling packet capture can not be used as a
  workaround for the ODM_LOCK leak issue.

  Upgrade to Fix Pack 9 for SSM 4.0.

Problem conclusion

• When NetifDisable is set (to true/on/yes), pcap_open_live will
  not be called on Unix. This avoids the odm_lock bug in pcap on
  AIX, and also should provide a robust workaround for other Unix
  interface problems.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:
