Error description

  • GSR1206E Promotion fails due to existing content in target
    environment

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When promoting a graph of objects any objects that already exist
in the target registry of the promotion are updated. This is
achived by deletion followed by create. In some circumstances
the delete is not possible due to depencies on that object and
so the update and therefore promotion fail.

Problem conclusion

  • Changes were made to remove the need to delete entities on the
target registy if they already exist during a promotion. It is
required that entity content is not changed from the last
time the entity was promoted from source to target. Changes to
    metadata are allowed.
