Error description

  • Currently, the IBM WebSphere Commerce product display page can
only show the offer price for the product. This price does not
include any discounts associated with active promotions running
in the store.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Provide a new databean that can show "the best promotional
price" for a product on the WebSphere Commerce product display
page.

BUSINESS IMPACT:
Customers browsing the web site can only see the offer price of
a product on the display page, and as result may not see
discounted prices.

RECOMMENDATION:

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A new databean (PromotionalPriceDataBean) is introduced to allow
the promotion engine to calculate the discounted price. The
price is calculated as if an order is placed that includes only
the current catalog entry with quantity of one.

By installing this fix, customers browsing the web site will now
be able to see the discounted price.
