Error description

• After running through a suite of test cases on AIX 5.2 it was
  found
  that the SSM crashed (SEGV) on reboot immediately after
  logging "destroying PCL" (debug message). The agent had been
  rebooted a couple of times before it crashed.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  After running through a suite of test cases on AIX 5.2 it was

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Upgrade to Fix Pack 8 for SSM 4.0.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• Removed a static code which was triggering a known AIX dynamic
  linker issue.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:
