APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The SNMP trap OID is being compared to the list of valid OIDs to
  determine the name.  The name is incorrectly being set to an OID
  that is shorter.
  
  The issue occurs when the OID is longer > 27 charatcers
  
  
  Detailed Recreation Procedure:
  Need a MIB with OID longer that 27 charaters
  MIB is correctly translated in an mdl
  results: OID > 27 chaatrters are truncated hence mapped to wrong
  attribute

Local fix

Problem summary

• When receiving SNMP traps, sometimes one or more of the SNMP
  OIDs contained in trap's VarBind payload is incorrectly matched
  against SNMP OIDs declared in SNMP device's associated metafile.
  This results in Portal Client display of the {Name=Value}
  pairing in Value_List attribute to have incorrect user-friendly
  Name.
  

Problem conclusion

• Logic was added to prevent the mismatch of a VarBind SNMP OID
  against the SNMP OIDs declared in the associated metafile; this
  logic was primarily needed for the case of tabular SNMP OID
  matching, though one minor scenario was also fixed for scalar
  SNMP OID case.
  
  The fix for this APAR is included in the following maintenance
  vehicle:
