IZ45139: 64 BIT UI PACKAGE NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY ON AIX MACHINES

Error description

• Abstract: 64 bit UI package not installed properly on AIX
  machines
  
  Environment: UI and CI components, AIX platform, 32 & 64 bit
  
  Problem Description:
  
  Customer was not able to use the "tacmd" command on a system
  where the
  TEPS, the WHP and the S&P agent were installed.
  
  Both bit-versions of UI files are needed on the AIX platforms
  for
  certain operations to execute properly, and the 64-bit UI were
  missing,
  causing the execution problem.
  
  Detailed Recreation Procedure:
  
  1. Clean install of ITM 6.2 FP1. You must install on an AIX 5.3
  64 bit
  or AIX 6.1 platform to be able to recreate the problem.
  2, If you install any, or all, of kcq, khd, ksy, you will see
  the
  problem.  If you install kux, you will never see the problem
  because ku
  prereqs kui 64.  If you install kms (TEMS), you will never see
  the
  problem because kms prereqs both kui 32 and kui 64.
  2. Run tacmd login or some other command, you will see the
  failure:

Local fix

Problem summary

• Installing the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server, Warehouse Proxy
  Agent, or Summarization & Pruning agent on an AIX 64 bit system
  does not install a usable tacmd command for this system.
  
  The tacmd package for AIX 32 bit only is installed by the Tivoli
  Enterprise Portal Server, Warehouse Proxy Agent, or
  Summarization & Pruning agent whether it is installed onto an
  AIX 32 bit or 64 bit system.  The tacmd package for 32 bit will
  not run on AIX 64 bit.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was modified so that when installing on a AIX 64 bit
  system and the tacmd package for AIX 32 bit is being installed,
  the tacmd package for 64 bit is installed as well.
  
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:

Temporary fix

• Manually install the tacmd package for AIX 64 bit.  This is the
  Tivoli Enterprise Services User Interface item.
