APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Due to changes added in IZ27547 the command
  set snmptrace on
  
  Does not function unless the inivar ConsoleFilter is set to
  'off'.
  

Local fix

• Set the inivar ConsoleFilter to off.
  

Problem summary

• The snmp trace function used to work as soon as you turned it
  on. Starting with the introduction of the ConsoleFilter in
  recent patches that is no longer true. Because console output
  from other threads is automatically hidden, the filtering works
  correctly in all cases except where the origin of the output is
  always meant to be a different thread. That case is snmp trace.
  

Problem conclusion

• If snmptrace is set to on from an interactive console (not a
  script or config file), then ConsoleFilter will now
  automatically be set to off and a warning displayed on the
  console.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
