Error description

  • User tries to assign managed systems to a query from the "Query
Results Source" tab in the Query Editor. The systems are
selected using the "Let user assign explicitly" option. The
problem arises when the client selects more than one system.
The SQL query is not built correctly and the table does not
display any entries. However, if only one system is selected,
    it is displayed correctly.

SQL not properly constructed when $ sign used in node name

OriginNode is NOT provided to the query neither
explicitely nor via a SYSTEM.PARMA factor.

Local fix

  • In the meantime a work around for the customer is to place the
managed systems they want to send the queires to into a managed
system list and assign the managed system list to the query
instead of using explicit node distribution.

Problem summary

  • SQL statement corrupted when $ is used in the node name
and assign explicit is specified for the query.

The $ symbol is used by the TEP/TEPS as a delimiter
for variables to be substituted. The parsing routine was called
for the originnode parameter even when the node was explicitly
    assigned in the query.
This caused the the node name to be truncated at the first $
symbol and all values past that point to be dropped.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the code to not parse for variables when nodes
are explicitly assigned to the query.
