APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a v9.5 DB2 product is installed first then the v9.5 merge
  modules are subsequently installed. the DB2 product copy will be
  the default copy. When you try to uninstall that DB2 product,
  the installer asks user to switch the default copy first. This
  is correct if there is other non-merge module db2 copy installed
  on the system.
  Otherwise, as in the scenario described above, it is not correct
  because the v9.5 DB2 merge module copy can not be set as the
  default db2 copy on the system.  In other words. it is the
  design that you can not switch the default copy to the v9.5 DB2
  merge module copy.
  

Local fix

• If there is no other db2 copy installed on the system, except
  the v9.5 db2 merge module copy, you can use the following
  command to demote the default copy
  before uninstalling it:
  
        db2lswtch.exe  -demote
