APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Currently patches on windows exist as separate entries in
  Add/Remove Programs rather than under the Main installation
  like other updates do.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• On Windows when a patch is installed with the option HIDEUPDATE,
  e.g.:
  ssm40-fixpack6-win32-x86.exe HIDEUPDATE
  it creates extra fields in the registry to indicate that this
  installed product is an update.  However it is not linked to the
  original installer so both the patch and the original installer
  appear as separate programs.  These should be linked so that the
  patch is a child of the original installer.
  

Problem conclusion

• Added logic to search through
  HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Install
  Shield_* for the original installer and then set the patches
  ParentKeyName to the key containing the original installer.
  
  Also the need for the HIDEOPTION flag has been removed. This is
  now the default behavior.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
