Problem Description:

Hostres device indexing has limited reserved space for certain
device types. For instance there can only be 100 CPU's. When a
system has more that 100 CPU's the CPU devices stop NICs being
added to the table at that position.

Local fix

  • No local fix available for this issue.

Problem summary

  • Indexing for network interface cards on Solaris started at 100.
This doesn't leave enough room for the CPU indexes which start
at 1.

Problem conclusion

  • Network interface cards now have a starting index of 100000.
This will leave enough space for 100000 CPUs.
