Error description

  • The SSMv4 Oracle ASM keeps writing to the agent.state and  $oraC
onf.2 table

Local fix

  • n/a

Problem summary

  • When looking up the table to see if an instance was already
present the agent would compare the SID to the GDN and the GDN
to the SID.  When you had database instances that had a SID and
GDN that were different, the Oracle ASM would add an extra entry
to the instance table every time the table data was refreshed.

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the Oracle instance table so that it correctly searches
for an existing entry.
