Error description
On Solaris 9, db2osconf does't make recommendation for MSGMAX and MSGMNB kernel parameters. If these parameters are not set, error DBI1030E will be returned when creating instance. You can manually set these parameters in the /etc/system file.
Local fix
Manually set these parameters in the /etc/system file: set msgsys:msginfo_msgmax = 65535 set msgsys:msginfo_msgmnb = 65535
