Error description

• When executing the "trapdest add" command the agent locks while
  trying to resolve the supplied name via DNS. This can cause an
  unacceptable delay if the name is invalid as we have to wait for
  a DNS timeout.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When you execute the SSM console commands, "trapdest add
  <host>..." or "trapdest addtarget <name> <host>...." it attempts
  to resolve the <host> using DNS. This will cause unacceptable
  delays if the host is invalid as it blocks waiting for the DNS
  to timeout. The agent appears to hang during this period will
  not respond to any get/set request until the DNS has timed out.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed so that the SSM console commands "trapdest add <host>.."
  and "trapdest addtarget <name> <host>..." will immediately
  return and execute the DNS request in the background. If <host>
  doesn't resolve and isn't an IP address the SSM will print out
  the error message "Invalid host name or IP address: <host>".
  Note: That this could appear several commands later( after the
  DNS timeout period has elapsed). Accessing the agent via other
  means no longer hangs.
