Error description

  • If you install Application Development Client for HP-UX
    PA-RISC, you can not execute db2expln because of lack of
    shared libralies.
    
    $ /home/v8adcl/sqllib/bin/db2expln
     /usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't find path for shared library: libdb2e.sl
     /usr/lib/dld.sl: No such file or directory Abort
    
    If you use ldd command, db2expln can not find shared library.
    $ ldd `which db2expln`
             =>
       ... snip ...
    /usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't find path for shared library: libdb2e.sl
    /usr/lib/dld.sl: No such file or directory
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • If you install Application Development Client for HP-UX
     PA-RISC, you can not execute db2expln because of lack of
     shared libralies.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Problem was first fixed in DB2 UDB Version 9.1 FixPack 6
