Error description

  • The TBSM Agent has some data items which are defined as
    asCounters (values that keep increasing) rather than asGauge
    values that go up and down, so the summarised values produced
    by the Summarization and Pruning Agent are not as expected.

    * KPIValue and KPIPrev are categorized as counter instead of   *
    * gauge. The summarized values of these are not helpful and    *
    * the S&P Agent should be producing SUM_KPIValue,              *
    * MIN_KPIValue, MAX_KPIValue and AVG_KPIValue values, which    *
    * would be more meaningful.                                    *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    Counters are summarized one way, Gauges are summarized the other
    way. This is because the natural summarization for things that
    are ever
    increasing (counters) and things that go up and down (gauges) is
    different.

  • A new agent build is required for this fix.
