Error description

  • Issuing an executecommand request may abnormally terminate after
    the
    command has completed its processing on the target system with
    the
    following output to the user's screen,
    
    *** glibc detected *** /opt/IBM/ITM/lx8266/ue/bin/tacmd: double
    free or
    corruption (!prev): 0x0000000000605bd0 ***
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    The occurrance of the problem is dependent on the contents of
    memory at
    the moment in time that the command completes and it is the
    duplicate freeing of the allocated Heap storage that results in
    the
    error.
    
    1. Install ITM 630 FP7 TEMS
    2. Enable KT1 Security setting
    3. Install OS Agent on target endpoint
    4. Execute the command
    /opt/IBM/ITM/bin/tacmd executecommand -m agent:LZ -c 'if [ !
    -f
    $configDir ]; then mkdir -m 2775 -p /opt/IBM/ITM/custom/conf/ &&
    chown
    tivoli:tivoli /opt/IBM/ITM/custom/conf/; fi; mv
    /opt/IBM/ITM/custom/conf/pingfile.conf
    /opt/IBM/ITM/custom/conf/pingfile.conf.bak'
    5. Observe the error displayed to the user
    *** glibc detected *** /opt/IBM/ITM/lx8266/ue/bin/tacmd: double
    free or
    corruption (!prev): 0x0000000000605bd0 ***
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Executing the Command Line command /opt/IBM/ITM/bin/tacmd
    executecommand -m <MSN> -c <Command String> may abend with the
    following error message displayed at the user's console,
    
    *** glibc detected *** /opt/IBM/ITM/lx8266/ue/bin/tacmd: double
    free or corruption (!prev): 0x0000000000605bd0 ***
    
    
    The executecommand processing incorrectly attempts to free heap
    storage that is not allocated.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The processing will only free heap storage that is already
    allocated.
    
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:
    
       | service pack | 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-SP0001
    

Temporary fix

  • Temporarily use the 063006000 (ITM 630 Fix Pack 6) version
    software (KUE) as a Command Line interface until this fix is
    applied.
