Error description

  • Maximo Asset Management 7.5.0.11 Labor Application

Appending a list of labor codes that the user has right to only
occurs if user has default site in their profile.

When users create a query, Maximo is appending a list of Labor
Codes that the user has rights to.Sometimes it appends the list
more than once. This causes the Where Clause to be too big to
save as a Saved Query and the program displays error :
BMXAA409E- The value specified (orgid ='XXXX') and (exists
    (select 1 from dbo.laborcraft
where ((craft .... exceeds the maximum field lenght. Enter a
    value that fits into the
    length of this attribute. .

reproduced with latest 7505 IFIX file
    "TPAE_7505_20140301-0800.psi.zip"

    Steps to Reproduce
    1) Security groups > duplicate Maxadmin group - call it
    TESTGroup
    2) select newly created group TESTGroup
    3) select Labor tab - uncheck authorize group for all labor
4)click new row add individual labor record > save.
    5) continue adding all the available labor records - note it
will take approx 272 records before the error occurs
    6) add newly created security group TESTGroup to user Wilson.
    7) on MAXADMIN group > labor tab > uncheck "authorize group for
    all labor" save.
    8) logout of MAximo
    9) log back in for the change to take place on the Maxadmin
    group.
    10) go tro Administration > Labor Application
    11) List tab > filter "default craft" enter > elect > hit
    enter key #
    12) once results returned > select save query > error
    message BMXAA409E issued.

Error only appears to be happening in the Labor Application.

Note: in Labor Reporting application the where clause appends
the list of labor records but does not
through the error message - it allows the save of the query.

**This only occurs when the user has a default site set in
    their profile**.
