Local fix

Problem summary

  • This APAR includes fixes to various defects identified in CICS
    Explorer v5.3.0.

Problem conclusion

  • - The CICS target platforms are updated to support exporting
Java projects at Java 8 code level.
    - To simplify the Explorer experience, new workspaces no longer
contain some older views in the operations menu (Corba Servers,
JVM Class Caches, JVM Pools, JVM Profiles, JVM Status). Users
who require these views can add them back using the Operations >
    Create New View menu.
    - CICS resource attributes containing Unix System Services paths
now have hyperlinks which link to the file system target.
    - When defining a Message Insert filter, the box displaying the
selected insert number was not wide enough. This has been
    corrected.
    - Using the filter entry field in a resource editor now shows
all values within a category name, where the category name
    matches the filter.
    - In the resource table views, there are toolbar buttons to
reset to view configuration and save settings to view
configuration. These are now disabled if the current view
settings are the same as the view configuration.
    - In the New Document Template wizard, corrected the validation
for the name which had been bound to the wrong attribute.
    - The EP Adapter Set EPADAPTERSET attribute is now shown as "EP
Adapter Set" in the editor, rather than "Name"
    - When switching from one CICS connection to another, the old
context is now removed before making the initial request for
    data on the new connection.
    - Added validation for mandatory fields used by the New System
    Link wizard.
    - LSR Pool and LSR Pool Buffers views are added to the
Operations menu, under the Files section.
    - View configurations can be imported from a Web server (HTTP or
HTTPS). The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 5.3 Knowledge
Center topic 'Importing CICS resource table views' will be
updated to explain a URL can be used where before it was only
possible to use a filename for the import.
    - When a CMCI connection fails, the connection refused message
is replaced with a not connected message.
    - In the View Configuration Preference Page, the delete keyboard
key now deletes the highlighted view configurations.
    - After selecting and removing multiple columns using the
Customize Columns dialog and pressing OK the code is corrected
to remove all the selected columns.
    - Added new example projects (available from File -> New ->
Examples -> CICS Examples -> Servlet and JSP -> CICS Link to
Liberty) demonstrating how to annotate a Java method so it can
be called from any CICS program.
    - Updated the HTASK DISPTIME attribute column header and editor
    category.
    - Default columns, attribute names, and attribute categories are
updated for the Bundles, Bundle Parts, and Bundle Definitions
views. These will take effect in new workspaces.
    - When installing a bundle definition, there is now a checkbox
to verify that the resource enables successfully. Checking this
will hold the install dialog open until the resource is enabled.
    - In resources table views, the delete keyboard key is now bound
to the discard or delete actions, as appropriate, for
    operational resources and definitions.
This fix will be made available in Version 5.3.0.9 of the CICS
    Explorer.
