Error description

  • STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    - open Maximo and go to an application like Service Requests
    - Go to Advanced Search and Where clause
    - Enter this: status='NEW' order by reportdate ASC
    - Click OK: a record selection shows in the List tab
    - do Actions / Run Reports
    - Click on "Create Report" button
    - Ensure that "Apply application query" is checked
    - Click on Preview Report
    - the QBR report runs fine but its Where clause (showing at end
of report list) is only: status='NEW'
The 'order by reportdate ASC' portion of the Where clause has
    been removed.
This is expected functionality because Maximo already offers
the option to do an Order By when creating the QBR report by
using the Sorting option in the QBR's Format tab.
    - Go to Advanced Search and Where clause
    - Only enter this: order by reportdate ASC
    - Click OK: a record selection shows in the List tab
    - do Actions/ Run Reports
    - Click on 'Create Report' button
    - Ensure that "Apply application query" is checked
    - Click on Preview Report
    - the QBR report doesn't run and you get this error:
"There was an exception on the server. Check your report
parameter values, or contact your system administrator, who can
find additional details in the server log."

Local fix

  • Remove the 'Order By' in the Maximo Where clause, then do an
'Order By' when creating the QBR report by using the Sorting
option in the QBR's Format tab.
