IV89431: ALLOW USER TO CREATE TASKS WITHOUT GIVING USER ACCESS TO CREATE NEW WORK ORDER.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In the current architecture you need rights to create a new
  work order to create task.  Client believes that you should be
  able to create task without this option.
  
  I escalated the PMR for review and L3 suggested a new APAR.
  
  Steps -
  
  Remove user rights to create a new work order (from the
  security group application).
  Go to a existing WO and try to create a task.
  You will get an error  -
  BMXAA0024E - The action ADD is not allowed on object WOACTIVITY.
  If you give the user rights to create a new work order the
  error does not display.

  We found a previous apar IV30384 which restricted the Add of new
  work orders if user does not have the New Work Orders right.
  This fix also restricted the add of tasks because the task work
  orders are stored in the WORKORDER table.The designer said: The
  fact that they are all stored in the workorder table is more the
  technical solution, not the business process.  Therefore, this
  new apar is to allow the tasks  to be created when the user does
  not have the New Work Order right.
  

Problem conclusion

• This is fixed in code.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
