    EXPLORER V5.3.0.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • This APAR addresses a number of small defects within CICS
    Explorer:
    New and updated items:
    - The System Links view (SYSLINK) is added to the SM
    Administration perspective.
    - The toolbar icons for resources views are updated. "Equalise
column widths" is moved from the toolbar into the view menu (the
little triangle in the view toolbar), icons for "Open View
Configurations", "Reset To View Configuration" and "Save
Settings To View Configuration" are added to the toolbar.
    - The discard dialog on resources that also support disable is
upgraded to add a preference to issue a disable request before
    discarding.
    - Using the perform operation dialog to install definitions in a
situation where there's only one possible install target (e.g.
with a scope selected), the only possible install target will
    now be selected by default.
    - CICS Explorer is updated internally in some areas to retrieve
records via CMCI in one connection attempt rather than separate
get/fetch/discard connections. This improves performance in the
CICSplex Explorer and the Workload Specification Editor
    particularly.
    - In the CICSplex Repositories view, CSD list entries are now
sorted in sequence, rather than alphabetic, order.
    - When exporting a CICS Bundle to zFS, Explorer now remembers
for that bundle whether you prefer to export to a platform home
    or a specific location.
    - In the CICS View Configuration preferences, unsaved changes
are now shown with an asterisk.
    - To make it easier to replace your current views with a full
set of imported views, you can now select all views in the View
Configuration preferences and delete them in one go.
    - New wizards are created to allow view configurations to be
imported and exported. They can be found most easily from the
    View Configuration preferences dialog.
    - A new "Save Settings To View Configuration" button is added to
the view toolbar which applies any changes in your active view
    to the underlying view configuration.
    - The NONRLSRECOV SIT Parameter was not visible within CICS
Explorer when using the Show SIT Parameters function (IV87858).
    Bugs fixed:
    - Quick filters could not be applied to some 'N/A' attribute
    values.
    - Changing the CICSplex in the perform operation dialog (e.g.
when installing a definition) could result in a
    NullPointerException.
    - NullPointerException could be shown in the Error Log from the
'Create table view' wizard when nothing was selected.
    - CPSM APAR PI66792 addresses an issue which allowed CICSPlex SM
to return multiple results when CICS Explorer made a requests
that should return one unique record. This is now guarded in
    Explorer.
    - When the context or scope was changed, all resources views
that had been used were refreshed, even if they were not
visible. Now, only visible views are refreshed. If a view
becomes visible with a stale context/scope, it will be
    refreshed.
    - When importing a transaction into a CICS Bundle, you had to
import a "Local Transaction" which was a regression, should have
    been just "Transaction".
    - In the Regions view, PRGMUCNT and IDNTYCLASS were incorrectly
    named.
    - From CICS Explorer 5.3.0.6, the performance when adding and
removing columns in a Resources view was very slow.
    - For CMAS to CMAS Links, when using New and New from... the
CMAS Context field did not have a sensible default.
    - In some of the CICS Example wizards, the project type icons
were not available and showed as red squares.
    - Using the less than (<) filter operator in a view
configuration with the SM Data connection resulted in an
    exception in the error log.
    - The Quick Filter colours were not correct on Ubuntu Linux.
    - The order of some context menu items in resources views was
    incorrect.

Problem conclusion

  • The listed issues have been addressed.
This fix will be made available in Version 5.3.0.8 of the CICS
    Explorer.
