IV87436: COMMUNICATION LOG ENTRIES NOT DISPLAYING IN CHANGE APPLICATION

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Emails that are sent from Communication Template(Select Action
    > Create > Communication Template) are not added to the
    Communication Log.
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Go to Changes app > Select a record > Click select action >
    Create a communication template --> choose PMRELREMCH (which is
    out of box communication template) and put your mailID and
    click on SEND
    
    2. Click on LOG tab --> check under Communication Log --> The
    log is missing however the client does receive the mail from
    Maximo "Change 1093 removed from a Release by user MAXADMIN."
    
    This is reproducible in ICD7601(TPAE 7603)
    

Local fix

  • 1. Go To Domains Application, bring up the WOCLASS domain and
    add a synonym to the internal value CHANGE, and name it as
    "WOCHANGE".
    
    2. Go To the Database Configuration application and bring up the
    WORKORDER object. Then go to the Relationships tab and filter
    COMMLOG relationship.
    
    3. Change the existing where clause of the COMMLOG to:
    
    exists (select 1 from workorder where workorderid =
    commlog.ownerid and (commlog.ownertable in (select maxvalue
    from synonymdomain where domainid='WOCLASS' and
    value=workorder.woclass) or commlog.ownertable in (select value
    from synonymdomain where domainid='WOCLASS' and
    maxvalue=workorder.woclass) or
    commlog.ownertable=workorder.woclass) and workorder.wogroup =
    :wogroup and workorder.siteid = :siteid)
