APAR status

Error description

• The CICS Explorer v5.3, when connected to the host system with
  a SM Data Interface type connection, gets a NULLPointer
  exception when trying to look at the CICS System Groups
  in the CICSplex Explorer View.

Problem summary

• You have a CICSplex which contains an empty System Group
  (CSYSGRP). CICS Explorer is connected to this CICSplex using a
  CICS SM Data Connection. When the CICSplex Explorer view is used
  to view the CICSplex, CICS Explorer reports an internal error
  when expanding the empty System Group.
  An internal error occurred during: "Fetching children of
  <csysgrp-name>".
  java.lang.ArrayStoreException
  This was due to an internal NullPointerException.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS Explorer has been updated to avoid the
  NullPointerException.
  This fix will be made available in Version 5.3.0.8 of the CICS
  Explorer.
