IV83313: MAXIMO IS NOT REFRESHING THE BULLETIN BOARD ICON INSTANLY WHEN THEY ARE VIEWED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Maximo is not refreshing the bulletin board icon instanly when
  they are viewed. With skin Tivoli13, I again reproduced the
  problem. Bulletin Board count tracking icon is not getting
  refreshed instanly when they are
  viewed and read.
  
  With skin Tivoli09, unable to reproduce. The display
  number was updated in real time both when messages were created
  and when they were read.
  
  Steps to reproduce the problem:
  ===============================
  1. Go to Adminstration--> Bulletin Board app
  
  2. Create 3 records i.e IBM test1, IBM test2, IBM test3
  
  3. Put an expiry date and change the status to APPR for each
  record and
  save.
  
  4. Click on Start Center --> You see number 3 next to Bulletin
  Board icon (Top right next to MAXADMIN)
  
  5. Click on ICON, you will see Bulletin Board is displayed
  
  6. Click on each messages to view it and Press OK
  
  You will notice Maximo still displays 3 messages on the icon.
  
  7. However click on Bulletin Board Icon - You will see the
  following the message
  
  "Bulletin Board - There are currently no bulletin board
  messages to view."
  
  8. Now Go to another application i.e Asset
  
  You will notice straight away number 3 is cleared out.
  
  9. Now come back to Start center, you notice the bulletin Board
  is refreshed properly. The problem here is that Maximo is not
  refreshing the bulletin board icon instanly when they are
  viewed.

Problem conclusion

• The bulletin board count is updated instantly when bulletins are
  viewed.
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
