Error description
If an SQLERROR occurs when requesting to create an affinity report, a popup box with text 'Problem Occurred' is received 'Generating Affinity Report' has encounted a problem. The 'Details' button shows text: An internal error occurred during: "Generating Affinity Report". java.lang.NullPointerException
Local fix
Problem summary
If a SQL error occurs during Affinity Report generation a null pointer exception (NPE) is generated. This happens because the CICS IA plugin does not cater for an empty result set.
Problem conclusion
CICS IA plugin Affinity Report generation has been updated to allow for empty result sets being returned from SQL requests. This fix will be made available in Version 5.3.0.1 of the CICS Interdependency Analyzer plug-in for CICS Explorer.
