Error description

  • StoreDataBean.getSalesCatalogs method uses an access bean finder
    query that the data cache does not cache.
    This causes a SQL query to run thousands of times per hour.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    WebSphere Commerce versions 6 and 7 customers who use the
    StoreDataBean.getSalesCatalogs method.
    
    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    A SQL query runs thousands of times resulting in high CPU usage
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    SQL query causes unnecessary high CPU usage.
    
    RECOMMENDATION:
    

Problem conclusion

  • The StoreDataBean.getSalesCatalogs method is changed to cache
    the query in the object cache with JNDI name
    services/cache/WCSystemDistributedMapCache using the
    com.ibm.commerce.catalog.objsrc.CatalogCache logical data cache.
