APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • This causes issues as Maximo defaults
    certain dates using the server time regardless of the
    Profile>Default
    Information Time Zone is set to.
    .
    Steps
    1)  Go to Work Order Tracking application
    2)  Create new Work Order and SAVE the Work Order
    3)  Change Status to In Progress
    4)  Check the Actual Start Date on the WO to see the DATE/TIME
    (should
    reflect EST)
    5)  Change the Date and Time Setting then change the Time Zone
    to CT on
    your Desktop
    6)  Click in the Actual Finish Date on the WO and use the
    related
    Calendar control for this date
    NOTE it àÉ s using a CT DATE/TIME as it appears to be pulling
    this date
    from the Local machine and NOT the server
    .
    Additional Comments
    The client believes that the Calendar should pull the time from
    the
    Server and NOT th elocal machine.

    This causes issues as Maximo defaults certain dates using the
    server time regardless of the Profile>Default Information Time
    Zone is set to.
    
    Steps
    1)  Sign Into Maximo and Go to Work Order Tracking application.
    2)  Create new Work Order and SAVE the Work Order.
    3)  Change Status to In Progress.
    4)  Check the Actual Start Date on the WO to see the DATE/TIME
    (should reflect the user profile time zone or server time zone).
    5)  Sign Out of Maximo.
    6)  From Windows desktop system tray change the Date and Time
    Setting then change the Time Zone to one that doesn't match the
    profile time zone.
    7)  Sign Into Maximo and Go to Work Order Tracking application
    and retrieve record.
    8)  Click in the Actual Finish Date on the WO and use the
    related Calendar control for this date and press Ok button to
    select the default date/time.
    
    Current result:
    It appears to be defaulting this time from the local machine and
    NOT the server.
    
    Expected result:
    The Calendar should default the time from the Server and NOT
    from the local machine.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Date/Time Calendar Control uses the user profile time zone or
    server time zone to default the current time.
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    package:
