APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The KO49045 buffer exceeded message can sometime be issued when
    it should not. The result is the event is lost and the situation
    is stopped at the agent that sent in the event data.
    
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    Any agent that sends in a large record of non blank data can
    cause this problem. The log file agent can cause this condition.
    

Local fix

  • Restart the situation that was stopped.
    

Problem summary

  • The KO49045 buffer exceeded message can sometimes be issued when
     it should not.  The result is the event is lost and the
    situation is stopped at the agent that sent in the event data.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed to optimize the usage of the buffer
    involved.  This will eliminate the incorrect occurrences of the
    KO49045 condition.  Should this condition occur in the future,
    reduce the size of the situation formula or reduce the size of
    the data, if possible.  If the situation involved is a duppered
    situation, then turn off duperization using the following:
    
      CMS_DUPER=NO

Temporary fix

  • Reduce the size of the situation formula or reduce the size of
    the data, if possible.  If the situation involved is a duppered
    situation, then turn off duperization using the following:
    
      CMS_DUPER=NO
