APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• SSM Agent 4.0.1 Fixpack 1 and Fixpack 2 Build 155 crashes
  under certain IPMP configurations.

  The problem was reported on Solaris 11
  IPMP Groups setup required 4 Network interfaces allocated but
  only use two in a group.
  
  
  This caused the agent to hang and crash:

  Then the SSM Agent suddenly stops, and hangs, after "finding
  ipmp" info.
  
  with no process  ID running after the problem to truss.
  
  DEBUG method :
  a) ulimit -c unlimited. ensure core file enabled or coreadm
  b) Run file ./core  on the core file.
  and
  pstack ./core
  If core file present
  
  
  pstack will show  the one threads top frame is dlpi_close.
  
  The underlying cause is that "ssmagent fails to close dlpi ,
  Device and Network Interfaces, when DLPI device is not found."
  

Local fix

• Test fix requested.
  
  
  Re-configure all 4 network interfaces to a group and this may
  avoid the issue in the short term depending on the IPMP
  configuration.
