IV67648: RESTORE SERVER FROM IMAGE FAILS WITH CTJZH2379E ERROR

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • PROBLEM DEFINITION:

Create server image completes successfully, but you see the
following error upoin doing a restore server from that image:
CTJZH2379E:  The virtual server must have the same resources as
the selected saved image.  Adjust the server resources before
restoring this image.

Per L3, Hypervisor.SingleStoragePlacement variable in the VST is
causing this problem.


REPRODUCTION STEPS:

Create an image from a server, then attempt restore the server
from that image, which fails with error reported above.

ERRONEOUS RESULTS:
Restore server from image fails

EXPECTED RESULTS:
Restore server from image should complete succesfully

ENVIRONMENT:
ISDM 724 with TSAM 7244

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

CTJZH2379E: restore server image fails with error server does
not match image
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:
Apply LA fix 7.2.4.4-TIV-TSAM-LA0040 to solve the problem.

Problem conclusion

  • User has TSAM 7.2.4.4

solution ::Check for SingleStoragePlacement property in VST of
image and handle it in code.

Updated the PMRDP_0246A_72.js to check for properties other
thank disk and proceed with restore even if property is present.
