Error description

  • After upgrading a queue manager to v7 the customer saw FDCs
continuously generated for a channel indicating a
    problem with the message length.
    FDCs generated showed:
    Probe Id :- RM575000
    Component :- rstSendAsyncMessage
    Program Name :- amqrmppa
    Arith1 :- 2048 (0x800)
    Arith2 :- 150994944 (0x9000000)
    Comment1 :- Message length error

    MQM Function Stack
    ccxResponder
    rrxResponder
    ccxReceiveThreadFn
    cciProcessUserData
    cciProcessAsyncRcv
    rriServerAsyncRcv
    rstReceiveMessageRequest
    rstCheckForOneMessage
    rstSendAsyncMessage
    xcsFFST

It was also noted when an MQ trace was started the FDCs were no
    longer generated.

Local fix

  • Customer was able to workaround the issue by setting SHARECNV(0)

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users using fetching messages with get message option
    MQGMO_UNLOCK

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When MQGMO_UNLOCK is specified, the datalength used in the
asynchronous get within the queue manager will not be updated.
This will result in an incorrect value being used, which may be
larger or smaller than expected. When the value here is
incorrect, an internal check fails later and the FDC with probe
ID RM575000 is written. The actual MQGET being performed will
not fail, and the message will be delivered.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been altered to ensure that the datalength not
being set when using MQGMO_UNLOCK is expected, and that it is
correctly initialized before use within the internal
    asynchronous get call.
