Error description

  • When doing Interface level polling (e.g. SNMP Link State) , we
don't raise alerts on unmanaged Interfaces, but it still raise
event on sub-interfaces. They should be suppressed too as the
parent is in unmanaged state. Like we do Chassis level i.e. when
Chassis in unmanaged, all Interfaces are implicitly in unmanaged
    state too.

The issue can be fixed in the discovery by adding a stitcher to
set sub-interfaces as unmanaged if the owning interface is
    unmanaged.

Problem conclusion

  • Enhanced a new option in disco.config to have sub interfaces
unmanaged if primary interface is unmanaged in
    TagManagedEntities.stch (3.9) or
    PopulateDNCIM_ManagedStatus.stch.

New option added for disco.config table in DiscoConfig.cfg
    (defined in DiscoSchema.cfg):

m_UnmanagedSubInts int type boolean // Should we set
    sub-interfaces as

// unmanaged when the owning specific

// types of interface is unmanaged?

Specifies whether to automatically set sub-interfaces as
unmanaged when the owning specific interface is marked as
    unmanaged by TagManagedEntities.stch (3.9 FP5 and later
    releases) or PopulateDNCIM_ManagedStatus.stch (4.1.1 FP1 and
    later releases) :
0: Default, do not automatically set unmanaged for
    sub-interfaces.
1: Automatically set unmanaged for sub-interfaces if the owing
interface is set to unmanaged by the stitcher.
