APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Unable to send Hibernations to cluster members whenever
    DirectSQL() function is being used.

Local fix

  • L3/Dev has provided a policy workaround for this issue. By
setting DataItems = null, OrgNodes = null and DataItem=null in
the policy before the Hibernation() function has corrected this
issue Also, if there are any other variables in the
CurrentContext that you don't need when the Hibernation wakes
up, you should set them to null as well.

    ****************************************************************
When creating a Hibernation on a secondary cluster member in a
policy that uses DirectSQL the server will generate a
Serialization error when trying to send the Hibernation to the
Primary cluster member. Because of this, the Hibernation will
    be discarded.

Problem conclusion

  • Since DirectSQL data is transient it will be discarded when the
policy Hibernates. This allows the Hibernation to be
transferred from Secondary cluster members to the Primary
cluster member. If the DirectSQL is needed after the policy
wakes back up from the Hibernation, the DirectSQL will need to
    be run again.
