APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the configuration option NumEventsToCatchUp is set to a
  valueother than zero, the Log File Agent may core, crash on
  HP-UX. The problem occurs on Log File Agent v6.3.
  
  The core might show the following:
  Core was generated by `kloagent'.
  Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In the configuration file for the Log File Agent
  instance,specify NumEventsToCatchUp=<value other than zero>.
  
  2. Start the Log File Agent instance
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• On HP-UX, when the configuration option NumEventsToCatchUp is
  set to a value other than zero, the agent might core.
  The agent continued processing, even though the parsing of the
  restart file line was treated as a failure and the required
  field values were missing (NULL).
  
  The problem occurs on Log File Agent v6.3 and v6.2.3.2.
  

Problem conclusion

• Handle the return value properly from parse function, so the
  parsing of the restart file row continues.
  
  The fix for this APAR is included in the following maintenance
  vehicle:
