Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V7.5
    and V8.0

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The problem occurs when the user who has been configured for a
particular promotion environment has the same user name and
realm as the user who has been selected to run in the RunAs role
for the ServiceRegistry application on the system performing the
    promotion. Typically the Governance Master.

When a promotion runs and completes, a logout call is made which
removes cached credentials for the user who logged into the
remote system to perform the promotion. If the user who is
logged out happens to match the RunAs user then any process
which is currently running in the RunAs role will effectively be
logged out too. This can lead to processes such as text search
indexing failing because the user under which they are running
has been logged out. The problem only applies to processes
that were already running as the RunAs user when the logout call
was made. New processes will simply log in again and work
    correctly.

Typically this problem causes occasional error messages in the
    SystemOut log.

Problem conclusion

  • The logout call is unnecessary and was removed so that
promotions will not cause the RunAs user to be logged out.

This fix is targeted for inclusion in WSRR v7.5.0.5 and v8.0.0.3
