Error description
Ø A deadlock on the ctira_log_lock occurs if the open to the log fails as the error path does not do an unlock. RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS: Agent has to have RPC errors occurring which causes a ctira log entry to be create and the log file has to fail to open. This introduces a deadlock in the code. Local fix
Problem summary
Deadlock in CTIRA_INSERT_LOG on failed open request. When the error path is taken on an open request on a file, the CTIRA lock request is not released. This causes threads to lock up over time waiting for the release of the lock.
Problem conclusion
Moved the lock release after the error path in the code. The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | fix pack | 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0005
