  A situation for TCP/IP logical interface alerts once initially,
  then the alert closes and the situation does not alert again.
  Steps to reproduce the problem:
  a) Create a situation with the following definition:
  ---------
  *IF *VALUE i5OS_TCPIP_Logical_Interface.Status *EQ Inactive
  ----------
  b) Associate the situation and distribute it to an i5 OS agent.
  c) Take the interface offline so that the condition for the
  situation is satisfied.
  Notice that the situation fires the first time, however it
  closes automatically and never fires again even though the
  condition remains true.
  In addition, the following can be seen in the logs if the kra
  component is traced:

  Note: The problem occurs on V5R3 and not in the newer releases.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• A situation for TCP/IP logical interface alerts once initially,
  then the alert closes and the situation does not alert again
  even though the condition remains true.
  
  This error occurs if there is no TCP IPv6 interface active or an
  internal error occurs retrieving the TCP/IP IPv4 or IPv6
  interface information.
  
  On V5R3, there are no defined IPv6 interfaces by default.  This
  error is likely to occur on V5R3 systems unless the customer has
  has manually defined an active IPv6 interface.
  
  On V5R4 or later, this error may also occur if the default IPv6
  interface is not active.
  
  A symptom of this error is an entry in the agent log similar to
  this entry:

  QtocLstNetIfc API. Exception ID=<TCP84C0>.
  ...
  51DC9350.0025-3:ka4tiagt.cpp,98,"TakeSample") Error on call to
  listIPv6Data().  Skipping AddData() loop.
  
  After this error occurs, data is not returned for either IPv4 or
  IPv6 interfaces and there will be entries in the agent log
  similar to these entries:

  listIPv4Data().  Skipping AddData() loop.
  ...
  (51DC938B.000B-3:ka4tiagt.cpp,98,"TakeSample") Error on call to
  listIPv6Data().  Skipping AddData() loop.
  

Problem conclusion

• The agent code has been corrected to reset properly if a TCP/IP
  interface being collected is not active or an internal error
  occurs retrieving the TCP/IP interface information.
  

Temporary fix

• Ensure there are active TCP/IP interfaces defined for both IPv4
  and IPv6.
