    ABSTRACT:             New product-provided workspace modifiable
    one time
    
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    
    A new product-provided workspace can be modified one time after
    installation even if marked as not modifiable.
    
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    
    1 Start TEP in candle internal mode
    
    2 Logon with a user id in workspace admin mode
    
    3 Create a new logical navigator node
    
    4 Select the new navigator node and observe that the default
    'workspace
    not defined' workspace is displayed.
    
    5 Open the workspace properties and click the 'Do not allow
    modifications' and 'Product provided' options and save the
    properties.
    
    6 Modify the workspace in some way and save it. Note that you
    will be
    able to save it repeatedly while in candle internal mode.
    
    7 Logoff and restart the TEP in 'normal' mode e.g. without the
    candle
    internal mode switch.
    
    8 Logon with the same user id in workspace admin mode.
    
    9 Navigate to the workspace saved in step 6
    
    10 Save the workspace. Observe that the 'not modifiable' popup
    does not
    appear.
    
    11 Save the workspace again. Observe that the 'not modifiable'
    popup
    does appear.
    

Local fix

  • Before packaging the product-provided workspaces, start the TEP
    in
    'normal' mode and logon with a user in workspace admin mode.
    Save each
    product-provided workspace one time without making any
    modifications.
    Package the workspaces.
    

Problem summary

  • In the portal client, read only workspaces created in IBM
    internal administration mode can be modified and saved once by
    an ordinary administrative user. Subsequent save attempts are
    blocked and the following message is displayed:
    
    "KFWITM185W This workspace has been marked read-only and cannot
    be modified. Do you want to create and save a new workspace with
    your changes?"
    

Problem conclusion

  • The logic was changed to ensure that only IBM administrative
    users are allowed to save workspaces that have been marked
    read-only.
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:
