APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Monitoring Server may crash when multiple SOAP queries are
performed. In particular this behaviour has been reproduced when
scripts are used to issue the SOAP queries that results in a
huge SOAP workload for Monitoring Server.
Also a memory leak is observed in the same conditions.

Local fix

  • The issue is already fixed in ITM 6.2.2FP9 and ITM 6.2.3FP1.
    No workaround is available.

Problem summary

  • The monitoring server may crash with multiple SOAP queries.

If excessively heavy SOAP traffic is directed toward the
monitoring server, a memory leak may occur and occasionally lead
    to a crash.

Problem conclusion

  • Proper handling of memory allocations has been added for nodes
    and the caching mechanism.
