Error description

  • Error Message: A superclass defines a property and a subclass
another
property with the same name, but different type.

The result of calling Introspector.getBeanInfo for the subclass
will
contain the PropertyDescriptor with the ReadMethod properly set
but the
WriteMethod will be null.

Problem summary


    

  • A superclass defines a property and a subclass defines a boolean
property with the same name. The result of calling
Introspector.getBeanInfo for the subclass will contain the
PropertyDescriptor with the ReadMethod properly set but the
WriteMethod will be null.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.0 SR11
6.0.1 SR4
.
If the subclass's property is boolean type and its get method is
named with "is" prefix, the situation should be handled
specifically.
