APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When an incorrect configuration is set up to connect the
Explorer to a CICS region, message CNX0106 Forbidden is
displayed to the user. Although a full XML body with detailed
DFHWU4301 information displays in the internal trace, it is not
exposed in the readily viewable Explorer status bar. The full
XML body should be exposed to the user for ALL messages having
an associated XML body that details the failure to allow the
user to quickly determine why the connection is failing.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When a user encounters a connection error over CMCI, the XML
error response back to the client is only logged to the CICS
    Explorer trace.

This makes it harder to identify an incorrectly configured CMCI
    host.

In this case, a "DFHWU4301" message would have assisted the user
    to identify this problem.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Explorer displays the Message Identifier of the CICS Server
Error message in the status bar.

This fix will be available in the next CICS Explorer 1.1 and
    1.1.1 fix packs.
