Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    WebSphere Commerce users on V7 who setup the Display Recently
    Viewed eMarketing Spot

    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    Display Recently Viewed espot doesn't display recently viewed
    catalog entries.

    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    The recently viewed items failed to display on the espot

    RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • This issue is fixed by resetting the request/response referenced
    by the request handler/controller object/device adapter to their
    original values after FilterChain.doFilter() is called. As a
    result UserTrafficData.parseEventData() contains valid
    information when  RuntimeServletFilter calls
    WebControllerHelper.endRequestProcessFinal() and the recently
    viewed items are recorded properly.
