Normally cinfo -s ends with rc=0 if no errors occur. RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS: Choose an installed component to be the 2 letter code to use for PC. Edit CANDLEHOME/config/.ConfigData/kPCenv Ensure there are no blank lines in the file or at the end of the file. Run The following commands: cinfo -s PC echo $? Notice that the value returned is 0 Edit CANDLEHOME/config/.ConfigData/kPCenv Add one or more blank lines to the end of the file. Run The following commands: cinfo -s PC echo $? Notice that the value returned is 1
Local fix
Delete all blank lines found in or at the end of the $CANDLEHOME/config/.ConfigData/k*env files.
Problem summary
The command "cinfo -s {pc}" exits with a return code of one when the product environment file (k{pc}env) ends with a blank line. The command "cinfo -s {pc}" or "cinfo -s all" exits with a return code of one if the last line of the product environment file (k{pc}env) is blank. Normally, "cinfo -s" ends with a return code of zero if no errors occur.
Problem conclusion
The cinfo command was changed to ignore blank lines in the product environment files. Temporary fix
Remove any blank lines from the product environment files $CANDLEHOME/config/.ConfigData/k{pc}env.
