IV14097: MISSING EIB LOG UPDATES AT RTEMS

IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.2 Fix Pack 9 (6.2.2-TIV-ITM-FP0009)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The EIB listener at the RTEMS is allowed to expire after
  inactivity for 20 minutes.  Although the listener will be
  re-established immediately, there is a short interval of time
  where events sent from the HUB may be missed and not processed
  at the RTEMS.  If this happens, the RTEMS will not update his
  tables with the update.

Problem summary

• EIB log updates are missing at the remote monitoring server.
  
  
  Although it is very unlikely to occur, there is a slight
  possibility that an EIB log update is lost at a remote
  monitoring server before the update is made. The chance is
  slight because after the EIB request is expired, it is rebuilt
  immediately.
  

Problem conclusion

• The behavior of the hub monitoring server has been modified to
  send the "keep alive" event to all remote monitoring servers.
