APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If you install the AIX Premium agent from 6.22.01 after
  installing
  the Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring server, Tivoli Enterprise
  Portal
  server, or Tivoli Enterprise Services User Interface Extensions
  directly from 6.22.04 or a later 6.22 family release,
  $CANDLEHOME/bin/pdcollect will be regressed.
  
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  Install TEMS, TEPS, or User Interface Extensions from ITM
  6.22.02
  Upgrade to 6.22.04
  Run tacmd pdcollect
  [NOTICE] the command completes successfully
  Install AIX Premium agent from 6.22.01
  Run tacmd pdcollect
  [NOTICE] the command fails with the following messages:
  
  KUICPD113I: Executing the pdcollect script from local machine...
  KUICPD002I Attempting to connect to the host localhost ...
  Please, check there is enough space for the PDCollect archive.
  KUICPD004I Executing the pdcollect script
  /opt/IBM/ITM/bin/pdcollect
  ...
  Option -nojava is not recognized
  
  
  KUICPD007E The file transfer process failed.
  

Local fix

• Reinstall Tivoli Enterprise Services User Interface Extensions
  from the ITM 6.22.04 media.
  

Problem summary

• Installing the AIX Premium agent version 06.22.01 or other
  products with an IBM Tivoli Monitoring base lower than version
  06.22.04 after installing any component from IBM Tivoli
  Monitoring version 06.22.04 or later will regress the
  bin/pdcollect script.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was modified to restore bin/pdcollect if it was
  regressed during installation.
  
  
  The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
  packages:

Temporary fix

• Install the Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring User Interface
  Extensions (kue) component from the default platform from the
  IBM Tivoli Monitoring base media image.
