APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The data sources are not configured correctly so the
ServiceRegistry application will fail to start because it will
not be able to access the database.

Local fix

  • Not applicable

Problem summary

  • When deploying WSRR to use a DB2 for z/OS database using either
the deployment wizard or the deployment scripts, the WAS data
sources are not configured correctly and will fail to connect to
the database. The ServiceRegistry application will therefore
fail to start and the following error might appear in the log:

SCHD0124E: Unable to initialize sched/WSRRScheduler due to
    error:
    com.ibm.ws.extensionhelper.exception.UnableToInitializeException
    : com.ibm.websphere.ce.cm.StaleConnectionException:
    [jcc][t4][2057][11264][3.53.104] The application server rejected
    establishment of the connection.

An attempt was made to access a database, <DATABASE_NAME>, which
was either not found or does not support transactions.
    ERRORCODE=-4499, SQLSTATE=08004DSRA0010E: SQL State = 08004,
    Error Code = -4,499

Problem conclusion

  • The specified connection location parameter was not used when
configuring the data sources. It should be set as the 'Database
name' property value on each of the data sources.

The deployment code has been fixed to ensure the specified
connection location value is set on the data sources.

This fix is targeted for inclusion in fix pack 2 for WSRR v7.5.
